Welcome to the first issue of my new e-newsletter, ThePlugger. Its purpose is to showcase the breadth of my portfolio, ranging from studio and promotional photography through to 'live' gigs. So do keep me in mind when considering your next photography assignment!
You may be interested to know that many of my music photos are represented by Retna Pictures, one of the world's largest independent photo agencies that has more than 1,500,000 images available online.
I hope you enjoy viewing a small selection of my work as well as reading some of my stories.
Best Wishes

Who the f**k are Arctic Monkeys?!
|

|
Attending
the cavernous Magna Science Adventure Centre to photograph the Arctic Monkeys
was a far cry from the early days of going to local pubs with
the Sheffield quartet.Yorkshire
newspaper, The Star, sent me along to the 2,500 capacity venue, a former
steel works on the outskirts of Rotherham, to cover the gig. The
Arctic Monkeys are no longer just four Yorkshire lads making waves on the
local
Sheffield circuit. They're probably the biggest band in the UK!

Paolo visits these streets in Sheffield
|
When
Scottish singer/songwriter Paolo Nutini visited the Virgin Megastore
in Sheffield, I covered the event for Exposed, a local entertainment
and lifestyle magazine. Paolo subsequently played support to the Rolling
Stones at Sheffield's Don Valley Stadium. He is a nominee for top
British male solo artist at The BRIT Awards 2007, which will be held
at Earls Court in London on 14 February. |

No more Mr Nice Guy!
|

|
No
one looks, sounds or performs quite like the legendary Alice Cooper who is
universally recognised as one of the most influential artists in rock music.
It was a pleasure to photograph him at Sheffield's City Hall in a performance
that featured guillotines, electric chairs, fake blood and boa constrictors
as well as his eldest daughter, Calico. With a climax that involved being
'decapitated' in an ironic finale, Alice Cooper's stage show is certainly
one I won't forget!
