Dear Visitor

This month’s issue of ThePlugger features three bands that illustrate the wide spectrum of musical genres that I photograph – from heavy metal and electronic through to indie rock. And I’m also very mobile - London one night, Leeds the next!

I have a growing client portfolio in the music industry and I pride myself on the rapport I’m able to generate with the artists I photograph.

Just give me a call to book me for your next musical event or gig. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy reading my stories and viewing a small selection of my work.

Best Wishes

Shakin' my ass with Groove Armada!

Groove Armada’s Tom Findlay invited me along to photograph the band during their recent nationwide tour to promote their new album, Soundboy Rock. The direct commission from the band provided me with backstage access at the Manchester Apollo and also at the famous London Roundhouse in Camden, where I took this photo of Andy Cato practicing his trombone. One of Groove Armada’s most popular tracks is their 2000 hit "I See You Baby", remixed by Fatboy Slim, with the chorus line "I see you baby....shakin' that ass" as heard in the Renault Mégane advertisements.

Golden gods prove their mettle

What do rock legends Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, Ronnie James Dio and Vinny Appice all have in common? Answer: I met them all at Metal Hammer magazine’s annual Golden Gods Awards ceremony held at London’s Koko in Camden! I shared a joke in the backstage media room with the Black Sabbath boys – currently touring under the Heaven and Hell moniker – as they posed with their ‘Resurrection Award’ presented to them by fellow legend Dee Snider of Twisted Sister.

Watching the detectives in Leeds

The Pigeon Detectives are an indie rock band from Rothwell in Leeds who formed in 2002. I was commissioned by the band’s PR company to photograph the band at their two Leeds Town Hall gigs. I was also invited along to capture the band’s personal appearance at the HMV store in Leeds city centre where they were interviewed by BBC’s Look North. The band have been championed by well known DJs such as Steve Lamacq and performed at the Reading and Leeds festivals in 2006.
